DSM Legal Solicitors have taken part in the annual Will Aid fundraising campaign which runs every November.
The campaign is run by nine UK charities including NSPCC, Age UK, Save the Children and British Red Cross. Donations will be used by the various charities to fund worthwhile causes from giving children a healthy start in life to supporting older people with the challenges of later life.
Each November participating solicitors volunteer their time to write a basic will or a pair of mirror wills and instead of charging a fee invite clients to make a donation to Will Aid.

“Will Aid is invaluable, not only for raising much needed funds for charities, but also for heightening awareness of the importance of making a will.
Without a will the Intestacy Rules will determine who will inherit your estate, but more than 2/5th of homeowners do not have a will and neither do a considerable number of young people – who are more likely to have young children and to co-habit – some of the most compelling reasons for making a will.”
Once all the donations have been collected on behalf of Will Aid DSM Legal hope to have reached their target of £1,000.00.
DSM Legal will be running a similar scheme in February next year to support TASC (the Ambulance Staff Charity). TASC helps ambulance staff who are struggling with their mental, physical or financial wellbeing.
Diane says “Statistics show that male paramedics are 75% more likely to commit suicide than other healthcare workers – a truly shocking statistic. We are all grateful for the daily contribution and sacrifices made by front-line ambulance staff, more particularly during the last eighteen months and so instead of charging a fee for a basic will we will be asking our clients to make a donation to TASC instead.”
